The San Leandro Academy for Multimedia (SLAM) is a three-year digital-media academy program at San Leandro High School. We provide a school within a school atmosphere at a large public California High School.
Students in SLAM take academic courses such as English and Social Studies inside the academy as well as media classes. The coursework in all classes is aligned so that many projects are cross-curricular, meaning students are putting English and Social Studies content into the media they create.
Multimedia 1 is our media class for Sophomores. Students survey photography, photoshop, video, web, graphics
SLAM Juniors take Video Production and learn camera, lighting, storytelling, and editing.
Our English courses teach reading and writing techniques important to media creators.
