Push-In Shot with the Rule of Thirds

Start the Shot: Frame your subject on one of the imaginary vertical lines of the rule of thirds grid (the lines that divide the screen into three sections). Don't center them.
Move In: Physically move the camera straight forward, slowly and smoothly, toward your subject.
Keep subject in same spot of rule of thirds: This will help you keep As you move, keep the subject on that same vertical line. You may need to make small side-to-side adjustments to stay aligned.
Stop: End the shot when you are at the desired closeness to your subject. The final image should still have your subject off-center, but now they fill more of the frame.
