If you are starting a new websites follow ALL these steps.

Step 1: Bypassing the AI & Onboarding Questions

When you first sign up, Wix is going to try to walk you through an AI chat and several onboarding screens. Your main goal here is to hit Skip to keep your control.

  1. Go to Wix.com and create your account.

  2. Bypass the AI Chat: If a screen pops up asking you to chat with an AI to start building, look for the option that says "Set up without AI" and click it.

  3. The "Skip" Marathon: Wix will now try to interview you. Bypass these screens:

    • First, what is your site all about? → Look at the bottom right and click Skip.

    • What do you want to call your site? → Click Skip.

    • What are your goals for this site? → Click Skip.

    • Add apps to your site to reach your goals → Click Skip.

  4. Go to the Dashboard: Once you successfully skip these questions, Wix will load your main account Dashboard.

  5. Look at the top right corner of your dashboard and click the blue button that says Design Site.

Step 2: Picking the Perfect Template Manually

  1. After clicking Design Site you will see something called Wix Harmony "Design Your Site With Aria" show up. Skip that! Scroll down. It will say "or start from a template recommended for you" on the right you will see "See All". Click that!

  2. Now you can choose to start a Blank Template or Drop down and filter by Photography or Creative Arts.

  3. Browse these specific categories and look for a layout that feels clean and minimal. Hover over your choice and click Edit.

Step 3: Name & Logo in the Header (Name & Logo)

  1. Double-click the placeholder text in the top-left corner of your header and type your Full Name. Use a crisp, highly readable font like Montserrat or Helvetica.

  2. Create a Logo on Canva.com or in Wix and add it to the header.

  3. Logo should be simple, clean, and aesthetically pleasing.
